The Empty Fort

The fortress walls stand tall and grand,

Its gates thrown wide, a daring stand,

With no one there to strut or wield,

The trap is set, its secret sealed.

The enemy comes, with swords and shields,

To conquer the fort, to rule the fields,

But as they arrive, they find it bare,

A trap so clever, a plan so rare.

The Chancellor meditates, his guqin strings strum,

A calm and composed demeanor, no nerves undone,

Disguised soldiers sweep with careful guile,

No one to hide, just a peaceful smile.

The enemy wonders, what could be at hand,

A trap so subtle, they dare not stand,

Their fear and doubt, a victory for the wise,

Who triumph without battle, a peaceful guise.

The empty fort, a strategy of old,

To win a battle, with tactics so bold,

No swords or shields, no blood or gore,

For peace is the victor, forevermore.
